Pros

The biggest issue with this company is the leadership team that has been built over the last two years. The current CEO is one of the most ineffective leaders I have experienced in my career. Since taking over, there have been multiple questionable hiring and organizational decisions, including placing people in senior leadership roles without the right competence or background for the job. Several VPs and SVPs appear to lack both leadership capability and functional expertise. For example, the innovation organization is led by individuals with primarily sales backgrounds and limited understanding of R&D and innovation management. Leadership within the Sales & Marketing, Strategy, and VP of R&D in Aarhus also appears weak, with limited leadership capability, poor direction, low engagement, micromanagement, a lack of empowerment and knowledge , and almost no clear structure or vision. The company culture has deteriorated significantly. Many competent and experienced employees have either chosen to leave or have been pushed out. Morale has declined, and there is a growing disconnect between leadership and the workforce.

Cons

One of the few positive aspects of the company is the COO organization, where there is at least some understanding of operational leadership and transformation work. There are also still a few highly competent employees remaining who continue to contribute despite the current situation.

Pros

Since the new CEO took over almost two years ago, the company’s overall performance has clearly declined. The leadership team she brought in e.g. sales & marketing and strategy are lacking essential leadership competence and technical understanding. The CEO has made many poor strategic decisions. This is especially visible in Marketing and sales and R&D or what is now called “innovation,” even though there is very little or no real innovation happening. Many resources appear to be underutilized, and instead of collaboration within leadership there is often tension and a lack of trust and integrity, which ironically are supposed to be part of the company’s core values. This affects decision-making and the overall direction of the company. The work environment has also become much more difficult and discouraging compared to when the previous CEO was leading the company. In addition, the R&D organization in Sweden has largely been dismantled, with most activities moved to Denmark, resulting in a loss of valuable local expertise and knowledge. Many competent employees have already left the company, and many new hires do not stay longer than a few months. These challenges are also visible in the company’s market performance and stock level.

Cons

The company still has many talented and dedicated employees who continue to do their best despite the challenges. There is also a strong foundation and history in the industry, which means the company still has potential to recover if the right leadership, collaboration, and focus on real innovation are restored.

Pros

Even with everything going wrong at the top, there are still a lot of great people in the company who actually care and know what they’re doing. The problems aren’t hidden—everyone can see exactly what’s broken so fixing things wouldn’t be a mystery if better leaders stepped in. With the right people in charge, the place could turn around fast because the talent and potential are already there.

Cons

The organization faces significant challenges at the executive and VP levels in due to outdated leadership styles, micromanagement, and a culture of fear-driven decision-making. Instead of fostering innovation, autonomy, and modern leadership practices, the top layers of management rely heavily on toxic approaches that weaken morale and push talented employees out. HR’s limited involvement in addressing these issues further compounds the problem. Despite this, many capable and dedicated employees remain—employees who could help turn the company around if supported by strong, competent, and forward-thinking leaders. Avoid working in Innovation especially within the strategy group. The leader responsible for strategy lacks fundamental leadership skills and does not uphold the company’s values. As a result, nearly everyone on the team left after only a few months due to the hostile environment. Unfortunately, he is the CEO’s right hand, and the CEO seems unaware of how damaging this behavior is to the organization.
