Pros

Flexibility with wfh. Colleagues are really nice.

Cons

There is no salary transparency. Before I left, I found out that there was a huge gap between people's salaries and it had nothing to do with the work they were doing or their qualifications. Whenever anyone tries to push back, the response is that the salary they have is in line with the salary benchmark and it is company policy that they cannot move it. This is not true for some people though. Leadership is out of their depth and make decisions against advice. There were some inappropriate work relationships from senior management that were not handled correctly and this lead to a constructive dismissal of a more junior employee. The culture is completely different between Dutch employees and internationals. They will often make a point of speaking Dutch at the lunch table when they know the internationals cannot understand. A lot of employee churn and layoffs in the time that I worked there. When I asked about whether the company would be celebrating pride month, I was told that management would be against that. It did not feel like an open environment for LGBTQI+ Very little opportunity for growth. Location of the office is not ideal.

Pros

ValueBlue offers a transparent salary scheme, all colleagues are nice, everyone is approachable regardless the level. The Dutch office is good. Internal communication is open and everyone can speak up. You can take initiative and try multiple things, also outside of your role.

Cons

ValueBlue is at the stage where you can feel many 'scale up pains' as an employee. On top of that internal planning changes rather often, but it is improving.
