Pros

Culture was great peer to peer pre Covid.

Cons

The company fell apart and tried blaming it on Covid and not the inept leadership and greed that drove lackluster performance. What was a Sales company is now old leftovers.

Pros

Unlimited vacation, snacks, some good people still left from acquisitions, strong products.

Cons

I read a review that proclaims that leadership lacks emotional intelligence and I couldn't agree with this more. It's true that our CEO said we'd "make it rain with sales" amidst the wildfire destruction in Australia when speaking to our Sydney office. And amongst the coronavirus hysteria he sent a very off-tone email emphasizing everyone to make more calls with the extra time at home, disregarding our well-being and showing little to no sympathy to the current working environment. The leadership loves to boast about the company culture but I'm still not sure what that culture is?? It reminds me of when Trump speaks and provides zero context to statements. When someone asked about 401k match anonymously on a call, he said that if that employee is concerned about a 401k match then they should look elsewhere for employment. It was asked at the wrong time, but still maybe don't tell your talent to leave? It's no surprise everyone from the Return Path acquisition is quitting because that was a real people-first culture. It's hard to feel valued at Validity. The products and the product teams from acquisitions are good so it's sad to see this happening.

hi, this is Mark, Validity's CEO. Well, this is a tough review. First, to my friends and colleagues in Sydney (as they know), I had their backs during the destruction of the wild fires and I continue to care about each of them deeply. The "we'll make it rain with sales" comment was a joke I used with them - during a much longer talk around compassion - and is being taken out of context here. I would encourage the reviewer to Slack or email any of your team-mates in our Sydney office and ask them, and am disappointed that you chose to take this comment out of context. With regard to the matching 401k comment - this has been a recurring question in several of our company meetings, as we discontinued the 401k matching program that had been in place at one of the companies we acquired (so that we would have a balanced playing field across all Validity employees). At this time, Validity does not match 401k contributions, though will continue to look to evaluate doing so in the future. That is unlikely to happen in 2020, given the overall economic challenges with the Covid-19 pandemic. The comment I made in the town hall was encouraging our team to focus on why so many of us have chosen to work together at Validity (competitive compensation, stock options, high-growth environment, and a team that has your back in an environment where you have the opportunity to make a difference every day), as opposed to looking for a job that matches 401k. This is about building a great company together, which I know is what so many at Validity find exciting, and if all you really want is a job with a matching 401k, then you'll probably be happier somewhere else. Ultimately, we have added hundreds of jobs in offices across the world, and thousands of customers who get great value in being part of the Validity family -- all over the last two years. This high growth environment means that each member of our team has to want to make a difference, and want to work hard together on continuing to build our company forward. I am glad that this reviewer found a few "Pros" to note, though honestly, I would hope that our unlimited vacation policy and free snacks are the least noteworthy things about being part of the Validity family. I would encourage this reviewer to contact me directly about ways to get more involved in all the great projects we have underway, or if that is intimidating, then to share ideas with your team members or manager about ways to get more involved. I suspect this will lead to you having a much more positive experience, alongside the hundreds of other happy team members across the world who love helping build our company.

Pros

They have some good products(which they did not build) but other than that I experienced nothing positive while working there. I guess you could say the anxiety and depression drugs I now have to take as a result of working here could be considered "positive". Other than that it was nothing but negative.

Cons

As many others have noted, the CEO has absolutely zero emotional intelligence and is COMPLETELY out of touch with his employees. He used every COVID19 update email to remind the company of our $1B revenue goals instead of actually supporting his employees. While the company was still profitable he decided to lay off 20% of the entire company(April 30th) and he will do it again as soon as he thinks he can take the company public, if he thinks it will make him and his investors more money. Contrary to their claimed culture of "having each other's back", Mark Briggs will NOT have your back. They have actually created a culture of paranoia and fear of losing your job every day.
