I believe every company on earth has its pros and con, areas for praise and those from improvement. However, having worked at UtiliSave, other than getting a below-market paycheck and work with a great group of line employees, the cons outweigh the pros.
Management is very economical with the truth and do not keep any of their promises. If you ever decide to work here, you happen to get an offer, promises of other "perks" or future salary adjustment, be sure to get it writing, as HR has selective amnesia regarding verbal conversations. This is a fact, it happened to me and other former colleagues.
The company does very little to train new hires. More often than not, new hires are handed a bunch of manuals, told to read them and if they have any questions ask. That's where the training starts and stops.
People look out for each other, but cannot be obviously too friendly as management deems it a "plot" against the company and people are talking "negative" about the company. If management decides they do not like you for personal reasons, they will make you miserable until they fire you or you leave.
The unprofessionalism with this company is far worse than any company I have worked for, and I have been around the block. Granted, no work environment is perfect, but when you have a company that instills the fear of God in you, that should they get wind you are looking for another job, they threaten you, even though they say that if you are looking for a job let them know and they will make it easy for you, it's not really the case.
If you plan on being a business analyst/auditor, be prepared to sign your life away for the next three years as the company forces you to sign a contract for that length of time. Also, be prepared to sign a non-compete agreement that not only affects you, but also members of your immediate family.
There are NO opportunities for growth in this company. When someone leaves either by will or by force, others are expected to take over their duties without an increase in pay. It doesn't matter the time of year; you will be told that the company will review salaries in July.
