Pros

Fridge had beer in it Close to the beach Most staff were great, talented and hardworking but they have all jumped ship now to greener pastures

Cons

CEO has completely lost the plot. He is a glorified salesman who gets a kick out of publicly berating staff. Hard to understand how the company still gets investment since the product is so poor when compared to anything else in the market. Entire sales team and development team had a max exodus. Expectation is you work minimum of 80 hours a week which would be fine if there was any kind of real direction.

Pros

The hype around Unleashed is positive. It really feels like you are building something special. "Good Products Matter" is what Unleashed stands for and we work with lots of unique businesses doing some great work.

Cons

- Generally poor benefits and compensation compared to competitors - Review of benefits is constantly promised but never addressed. For example holiday has finally been increased from 20 days. Unfortunately not by Unleashed caring about staff but by contract alignment due to the Access Group purchase - The old fashioned "Better together" policy means we all have to go to the office. - Since being acquired by Access Group we've seen a number of key personnel leave including most recently the company's founder. These are people who I saw as part of the core Unleashed team and personality of the company. More concerning is I have experienced bullying and favouritism myself as well as having seen incidents in meetings of it. Afterwards I've sometimes spoken to colleagues and we are shocked by what's been said. Particularly concerning is the behaviour of one senior person who consistently says inappropriate things about staff to staff. This covers everything from their job performance, to personal things about them or their family which should really be kept private. Finally it doesn't feel like a safe place to provide feedback as any employee survey is picked apart as a witch hunt to try and establish the source of the feedback so everyone has stopped through fear of future issues. It's not even possible to go to HR as the person responsible is also a friend of the exec who often makes these remarks.

Pros

- Excellent understanding, co-ordination and bonding between developers, testers and product owners - Skilled staff and always ready to help each other - Company events - Friday pizzas and drinks

Cons

- Highly toxic environment. Constant bullying by one senior person who constantly misuses the power of designation and will make you feel disrespected and lower down your self esteem. - I have personally experienced mental stress on many occasions. Report it to manager about it and they will make you feel more stressed by asking you to obey the orders from that senior person. - A huge staff attrition off-late. Atmosphere between colleagues is really good and they do their best and work as a team. However, management has this constant habit of poking you each and every moment, purposely trying to find faults and blame you heavily before whole team or at times even before the company. There have been occasions in past when staff were asked to do push ups for being late for meetings. - I have myself been in tears few times and as per the senior manager's policies, you are not allowed to shed tears at work. - ‘Authenticity’ is one of the company vision and they strongly promote it. On contrary, when you try to share authentic views, you will be suppressed and yelled for being impolite. - Senior Manager has the freedom to pass any sort of remark about your performance before others which will make you doubt your own ability. Feedbacks given to reporting manager do not get passed on to HR and even if it’s passed, there will not be any action taken as senior manager and HR share a good relation. There is constant favouritism and if you are not in good books with higher management, you will be highly insulted and would be constant target. Have seen senior manager yelling at one of her staff very badly for not showing up on time one morning. This shows the modern world dictatorship. Something that could be done inside a meeting room, was done openly before everybody to make the staff less valued. - Experienced, nice and humble people from Development, Product, Testing and Marketing have resigned off-late, which is obvious looking at the constant torture they suffer from this senior person. I could foresee many more resignations to come as most of my colleagues have already started looking out for better opportunities. - To show the company in good books, they offer 2 day work from home, but you will be constantly observed by your managers over slack to find an occasion to hammer you for not being online.
