Pros

Pay and benefits are very good compared to other companies. Upward mobility is decent.

Cons

Sub-par science Bad communication Bad management Ambiguous goals The company is owned by a Japanese company and ran by Japanese people. They bring people from Japan to management and they hardly speak any English. They try to implement Japanese work culture which is not a good fit for American culture.

Pros

Depending on your manager, can be a great work/team environment. Good PTO and sick leave benefits. Good compensation.

Cons

Not great for mid-career growth. Difficult to get promoted despite performing at a more senior title due to ‘optics’. Corporate strategy changes often and doesn’t seem to have a lot of clear direction. Corporate tasks like objective setting start very late and end early making it difficult to accurately plan goals and rate performance but actual payout takes months after end of the fiscal year.
