While we are happy that you are fulfilled by your job and coworkers, we would encourage you to discuss your working conditions with your supervisor and/or your HR Manager. We take our teams working conditions seriously and would want to address.

Pros

It was fun working alongside the troops and making an impact in the community we worked in.

Cons

-Work Life balance is the worst. Salaried positions easily work 50+ hours a week. - Lack of training from so many levels but then chastised for not doing something the way it was taught In a video you watched a year prior. -So much wasteful spending of donor money. Higher management stays in fancy hotels and comp tons of meals. -lack of support from HR -if anything they are aggressive and accusatory when you bring up an issue. - No ramifications if you have to deal with unruly staff. You can’t write them up you just are expected to do their job for them. - You have no support and the community sees it. - The pay is absolutely the worst for what’s expected of you to do in your job. You will be told- we are a Non profit.. all non profits don’t pu the best. That’s a lie many Non profits don’t waste fully spend what could be redirected to better staff pay. Many non profits pay a lot better.

Pros

Enjoyable and rewarding place to work because of the service members and volunteers.

Cons

Poor management/leadership, no growth/development, no work/life balance, management isn’t held accountable. It appears that the leadership team and HR lets the managers get away with a lot.

Want to Feel Undervalued?

Pros

Fair starting pay, fair benefits

Cons

Pay increases do not keep up with inflation. Position descriptions, titles, and schedules can change on a whim. Corporate does not value experience from those in the field. No recourse for management missteps. Zero growth potential despite promises. Extreme micromanagement. Work/life balance not respected. Company hires based on military rank rather than direct experience. There’s no attempt to learn from past mistakes. Federal government now dictates all diversity aspects. Executive compensation is insane for a nonprofit of this type.
