Long hours expected. Must play “politics” to move up in company. A lot of after hour “team building” and volunteer work is expected.

Teams are often under manned and long hours are common throughout the project life. Pay is often lower than that of competitors.

Can be shoehorned in to an undesired position

Stressful environment due to pressures managing external personell. Changes in role and location can happen on short notice. Pressures to travel.

Many trainings, standards, financial protocol to follow but are constantly getting modified. This business unit does not have a very strong standardization process to ensure all employees are properly trained in the same way.

An office environment full of office politics, weird “cult-like” environment that made me feel unwelcome, toxic management, lies told in interview about amount of OT (especially compared to other teams), DEI on full display, lack of proper training for new hires outside of first week or so, rampant nepotism, and limited career growth.
