Pros

I actually find it extremely difficult to write any pros about Trinity Health System. I would say some of the people are good to work with but they tend to be overshadowed by the toxic environment at this particular health system. If there are good and intelligent people they unfortunately never end up staying with the company because they aren't valued or they simply can't take the cancerous negativity which is rampant throughout this organization.

Cons

The CEO Fred Brower is one of the most unprofessional individuals I've ever worked for. He consistently contradicts what he preaches to his employees about improving the company culture and making Trinity one of the best places to work. Without proper leadership all of these company-wide efforts are doomed to fail. In regards to the culture it is unfortunate but no matter if you are the most qualified person for a certain position or not management will only promote those with whom they have a personal relationship with or someone they simply want to have the job. The CEO himself has actually (on more than one occasion) promoted his current girlfriend over other, qualified candidates. I have even witnessed job openings being posted AFTER they already picked someone for the position, simply so they can say that the job was posted as required. Due to these types of practices there is much disdain throughout the organization. This has created an extremely toxic culture which either deters good employees from staying with the organization or changes them into negative people as well. Year after year management discusses how they are going to start removing the "low performers" yet no one is ever fired from the organization. Some may read this review and think I am a typical malcontent, yet I attempted to do what I could to make this organization better. I was a member of our department's employee engagement committee and attempted numerous times to improve the overall culture of the workplace. Many of my attempts at overall process improvement also fell of deaf ears. It seems that many of the employees at this health system are content with things the way they are but as the healthcare landscape shifts, changes must be made to remain competitive. This is not the attitude you will find at this organization. If you are looking for a company with a positive culture and one where you can move up through based off your job performance and merit then I would suggest you look somewhere else.

Pros

Some of the best nurses I've known. Tremendous teamwork. Excellent patient care, as far as it is possible.

Cons

Administration does not value nursing staff. You only hear the negative. No raise in years. Terrible parking situation. Terrible cafeteria.
