Small institution with limited opportunities for growth Operational challenges as the institution grows and adapts to the ever changing, and challenging, world of Higher Education. A lot needs to be figured out before the institution can operate efficiently but hard to do with small teams, limited resources, and an increasing workload. This is true for many other universities.

Good people, better than average pay and benefits, students and learning environment, and natural setting

Cons

Lurking below the surface of progressive and supportive culture (as stated in mission statement and promoted in school policies) is a toxic undercurrent that attempts to ignore, cover up or terminate staff who challenge when they find themselves in opposition to management.

good job as a graduate and friendly, welcoming environment for the most part

Cons

not sure about the Peterborough campus but the Durham campus can be somewhat toxic. Very cliquey and if you're not in with the "in crowd" expect to be booted out of your job and never given opportunities to be promoted. All politics.
