Pros

The people at TopCashback are wonderful, they hire really lovely individuals Pizza lunches on pay day Activities such as yoga Summer and Christmas socials Health care subsidiary scheme Opportunities for placement students to have real world experience

Cons

Poor management with little intervention from their higher management. Despite raising concerns several times, and especially after I left my position, no intervention was taken to improve the managers skills and prevent the manipulation happening within the team. This issue with continually cause staff to leave this team. Un-equal working hours for placement students and staff who return full time despite being told that this would be the same for all other new starters. Does not encourage placement students to return full time if treated like lesser staff - definitely is this experience in some offices in comparison with others Poor levels of pay and process for pay raises is inadequate if your manager isn't willing to push harder for you Internal surveys were multiple choice with a very small comments box which made staff feel discouraged to write their real thoughts, like their opinions weren't wanted to be heard and this was simply a tickbox exercise

Pros

The commute and duvet days.

Cons

Senior figures behave incredibly narcissistic; it’s draining. Some employees - not everyone, there is a 'them' and 'us' mentality depending on how much you are liked non-professionally - are set up for failure with the constant moving of goalposts when it comes to how the company evaluates your success, so it can build a faux defence to avoid giving you a pay rise or only giving you the minimum and implying you should be grateful that it is at least giving you that. It's not uncommon for sexual (harassing, homophobic or sexism) and racist questions to be flippantly asked or jokes to be told; mostly by senior figures. When challenged it is explained away as banter. When highlighted to another manager or the human resources department to ask for help you are told that you are too sensitive, the person did not mean any harm (and is an asset to the company so should not have their reputation or professional record tarnished) or you should be more friendly. You’re then labelled a trouble-maker and are given a character assassination. The micro aggressions and gaslighting make you feel lost, confused, belittled and humiliated. The fair play policy is a red herring. The senior figures and human resources department openly acknowledge that fair play means something different to everyone so there is no consistency. It is often used against you by the company to make it seem as though you are being unreasonable when what the company wants from you isn't an entitlement and should not be up for debate.

At TopCashback we strive to provide an honest, open and friendly atmosphere for everyone, and we make strenuous efforts to value every single member of our staff. We are very surprised to have received such a review on Glassdoor, and the comments certainly do not reflect feedback we have received through any leaver interview or our anonymous regular staff surveys, which continue to be extremely positive. Specifically we entirely refute any claim that suggests we would not treat any matter of sexual or racial harassment, or indeed any form of prejudice, with utmost seriousness should they ever be raised. We pride ourselves on our proactive approach to ensuring inclusivity for every individual through our Diversity Forum which is made up of staff from all areas of our business, to ensure we have heightened awareness of every perspective on such matters.
