Pros

There's not a whole lot of pro's but I guess if you come into the company prepped with your unarmed and armed DCJS license, you can be promised a bonus, don't expect to receive it without having to fight for it, if at all. There are good people in account management positions, but they are held to ridiculous company policies.

Cons

You'll be told that you can work in multiple sites, which you can, but when you do, there is little to no training. If you happen to be assigned to a newly acquired site, there is absolute chaos, despite account manager's best efforts to make a smooth transition. Want to have a personal life? Not possible. Not only are employees not allowed to swap shifts with each other, you will be given your weekly shifts, often less than 24 hours before the day you are expected to work. I experienced this for 8 weeks straight. Not only are you not given enough notice before your week starts, you MUST give them 14 days notice to take any UNPAID time off, so forget being a single parent, or an adult with responsibilities outside of work. My favorite con would probably be the numerous employees (including myself) that weren't paid the agreed upon, wages. Sure, they'll rectify it if you check your paystubs and realize it, but you will have to call and call and the answer you'll get is that the money will be put on the next paycheck, even if you needed that money to pay your rent. This company does not care that their employees are living paycheck to paycheck. "It's just business." Course, we all know that 99% of companies in this country are that way, it's just really unfortunate to realize when you barely make a living wage, that their payroll mistakes, scheduling mishaps and dispatchers terrible attitudes are acceptable, but your mistakes are not.

Pros

Will hire anyone Provided uniforms Provided training Can provide rides during winter storms On job training

Cons

High staff turnover Will lie and impose double standards on you Favoritism Management will ignore you if you complain Will demote, cut pay, cut hours, without warning or reason There is no teamwork or reasonable communication No benefits no retirement Only one week of paid vacation no matter how long you've been with them and it's at half your weekly pay if at all sometimes they put it down as unpaid despite sending a request form. They will write you up for leaving if you have a death in the family. If your relief doesn't arrive they make it your problem to fix. Clock in/out breaks often. Dispatch unreliable, poorly trained but they out rank you and will change your clock in/out times without telling you Ignores issues at sites that clients create that pose risks. Blames and punishes employees for losing sites but won't manage, communicate, or train better. Write up system is guilty until proven innocent unless they already made up their minds regardless of evidence. Management will not answer calls or texts even during emergencies at a site

Pros

They have a training school for your DCJS and some of the managers are really good people depending on the site your at. Great for experience of your just starting.

Cons

Communication lacks between HR and the sites they have, low pay for what you do, They will work you to death if your good at the job and you have no family time. They will constantly mess up your schedule at HR that has to be fixed by your supervisor. No room for career growth.

Pros

I served my country proudly in the United States Military for over twenty years. Wearing my uniform with pride and providing customer service in a professional manner along with being computer savvy and able to document clear, concise reports is due to the invaluable training received while on active duty. Top Guard is a professional company. I believe that my training and experience is expected on a daily basis at Top Guard Security and I enjoy sharing the wealth. Here at Top Guard Security, you get a honest days work for a honest days pay. That equates to job satisfaction for me. There is an abundance of training while on the job, keeping qualifications and efficiency at peak levels. You have to love that!

Cons

If annual leave could accrue and roll over beyond years end would be great!
