Pros

The development team's vice president is legendary.

Cons

There are dozens to mention here. Yearly reviews would not happen. That is a taboo topic. Management does not answer about when is the yearly review. The technologies used are very old (ancient). The management does not give priority to upgrade. Well, the management says it is important verbally. But every time the upgrades are started, they ask to stop that project to do other projects. There is severe economical/budget issues. Until 2019 there was a policy to use same laptops for everyone in the company. So the receptionist and software engineer gets the same model of laptop. For software engineers, additional RAM is given. The management talks about new features to build. They never/ever talk anything about improve the associate's career, giving them training in new technologies. In 2020 the company does not use cloud services. There is no money to do any thing. The management does not have a relationship of win-win with employee. They just think about how to build more features with very old technologies. If an associates knows only the technologies used in this company, the probability they get a job outside the company becomes slim. The company's core product is built on Jboss Application Server version 4. I guess no where in the industry we can see a company who is using Jboss 4 in 2020. During the Pandemic 70% of the employees were furloughed and for the remaining employees 30% salary was cut. The management rarely talks about the economic status of the company. Many core associates started leaving. This is a one person dependent company. There is legendary development vice president, who is working in the company for 20 years. When he retires the company will be in a deep trouble. The management does not see the importance following good software engineering practices. They want tasks to be completed in short time. The teams cut the corners to meet the deadlines. There is no good documentation, training for the new associates. When the core resources leave, the company will be in trouble.

Pros

Easy to get vacation time off - everyone here takes an hour lunch.

Cons

Layoffs happen every 6 months - In 2012 to 2014, in just the marketing/sales department, 1 graphic designer was laid off, 1 marketing specialist quit, 1 VP of Sales quit, 1 sales manager quit, 1 VP of Marketing quit, the CEO quit and the marketing manager was hired.
