Pros

Joined just after the pandemic: Initially - Ticketer seemed to be thriving with a great *remote* working environment, with a strong and stable leadership team who shared a clear vision in continuing the upwards trajectory of the company. The majority of colleagues were a joy to work with, always helpful and welcoming. The product and services Ticketer provide - when explored in depth are very interesting, With so much to sink your teeth into and take on board. Day to day it can be very rewarding to get your head around finding solutions to customer issues and business requirements. You used to get a free giant cookie cake when joining (I had to mention it)

Cons

The contrast in the working environment from 2021 - present day is night and day. Senior members of the leadership team have moved on, whether by disgruntlement or as the result of majorly poor decision making from the very top end. This has led to a huge shift in employee morale, a contagiously toxic environment to work in and less opportunities to expand as an employee within the company. The once prominent emphasis on flexible working and comradery has vanished, leaving employees feeling pigeon holed into their specific roles with no wiggle room. This includes being 'micromanaged' by middle management and mandatory RTO (from fully remote) and the looming threat of redundancy if one doesn't comply. (Through means of 'Fire and Rehire' ) Individuals have been elevated into very influential position with little to no experience in the specific roles, which cause friction and stops the company being able to innovate and improve to help get back to the 'glory' days. Loyalty seems to be at the bottom of the priority list I am afraid, Throughout my time at Ticketer, one discretionary bonus was awarded around the end of my first calendar year. Was informed that there was no budget for it in subsequent years...

Thank you for the feedback - however we would like to respond to a false statement written in your review as it is untrue. Apart from our Repair Centre team who were employed to work from our Hungerford offices due to nature of their roles - and always have done since they joined - Ticketer still operates as a fully remote company for all other roles and teams - We have no offices to ask people to return to and we have not asked for any team members to return to any offices. It is important that any statements made are truthful on here.

Pros

The work is far more interesting than the retail software problems that I've worked on before. There is a lot of shared code, so engineers are working for a common goal rather than in silos working on individual customers. Best Agile and engineering practices are actually followed. The people are friendly and supportive. Friday afternoons are for training courses. It's fully remote.

Cons

I had no idea how much there would be to learn about buses and their software. It's going to take years.
