The work environment varies from day to day. In the morning on a weekday, you group greet the kids coming from different schools on buses or outside the museum. It can be crazy on days with 2,000 kids and chaperones. It ranges from 100 to 2,000. Even with a smaller group like 500, it can be frustrating if they don't arrive on time. You present to them the rules of the museum then lead them inside to drop off their lunches then go into the galleries or to their lab instructors.
You also sell admission tickets handling cash and credit. You need to know how to use a computer and learn the ticket sale software. It's not that bad at all.
You provide information at the information desk. You also handle will-call here too. A lot of people coming in will ask the same questions over and over.
You keep track of people entering the museum galleries entrance. This area is pretty chill, but it can be really boring. You have access to a computer, but it's in an open area. I usually read a book on my ereader.
