Blatant Racial and Sexual Harassment/Discrimination
Pros
Beautiful building with incredible sweeping views of the city. Diverse, loyal, and passionate hourly staff. Nice event space with a talented PR/social media team.
Cons
Where do I start? Non-existent HR department to guide hourly staff with any of the following issues. Management was incredibly sexist, racist, and homophobic. Often used power to get away with sexually harassing female employees, to make horrific comments about women and people of color, to target those who spoke up, and created a culture where most of the straight male management staff felt like it’s okay to act this way too. A lot of management was expected to sweep those kinds of things under the rug and if a member of management dare speak up they are aggressively retaliated against. Sexual and racial harassment allegations were dismissed. Management of any minority was grossly underpaid, sometimes to the tune of $10,000+ difference from their straight white male counterparts. The environment there is beyond toxic and sadly the loyal, talented, passionate hourly staff are those who have no voice and suffer the most.
