Lacks Leadership, Accountability and Culture of Fairness

Pros

- A few truly incredible women on the team make the experience worthwhile. You build deep, lasting friendships largely because you’ve weathered so many challenges together. - The role offers a good degree of creative freedom. - Occasionally, team members are treated to unique experiences like horseback riding, hot air ballooning, or clay shooting (typically once a year, during the summer).

Cons

- Work-life balance is poor, especially for those not in leadership’s inner circle. Some employees regularly receive special treatment and flexibility, while others are expected to overextend themselves without acknowledgment or even remotely the same privileges. - Compensation does not reflect the level of effort, time, and responsibility required to deliver high-level events. In fact, it is well below industry standard. -Team members often feel the need to walk on eggshells due to unpredictable leadership moods and behaviors. This has a direct negative impact on overall morale and culture. - Leadership struggles with accountability. Rather than taking ownership during challenges, blame is frequently shifted onto team members, creating a culture of defensiveness instead of growth. - Internal communication is disorganized and inconsistent. Important updates are often withheld or mismanaged, which can lead to confusion and even client-facing mistakes. - Favoritism is a recurring issue. Sales and creative team members are often held to stricter standards than their favored counterparts and leadership’s preferred team members. - Leadership "encourages" feedback, but when shared, both co-presidents weaponize the feedback in later discussions and gossip about your feedback with others. They continually pit girls against each other, trying to get team members to rat on other team members under the guise of "creating a better culture" or opportunities to get ahead in the company.

•Some talented and hardworking individuals on the team who care about their work. •Opportunities to gain experience quickly if you're proactive and independent. •Exposure to a wide range of projects and responsibilities. •With management often unavailable or behind closed doors, there’s minimal supervision and plenty of autonomy.

Cons

•The work environment is dominated by cliques (which comes from management) and office politics, making it difficult to succeed if you’re not part of management’s inner circle... The review from 2021 was SPOT ON! Sadly, nothing has changed! •Promotions, opportunities, and even day-to-day treatment are clearly influenced by favoritism rather than merit. •Salaries are well below industry standards, and there’s little to no transparency around pay or raises. •Leadership lacks accountability and often turns a blind eye to toxic behavior. •Concerns brought to management are often ignored or brushed off, creating a culture where speaking up feels pointless.

In this organization you have the opportunity to experience many different types of events and work with a large range of vendors. Creativity and thinking outside the box is somewhat encouraged.

Cons

The work environment is heavily influenced by cliques, with clear favoritism shown toward those in management’s inner circle. This impacts opportunities for career advancement and even access to certain benefits. Benefits themselves are inconsistent and frequently changing. There is no formal training or onboarding process. New hires are expected to “jump right in,” which can be overwhelming and disorganized. Many sales managers lack the skills or capacity to manage their responsibilities, often offloading their work onto others. The Creative Collaborator team receives minimal support for growth and development, as they’re frequently tasked with correcting mistakes caused by ineffective leadership in sales.
