Pros

There are some good, talented people there. They have a former Program Manager there that is doing the best he can at BD. The Business Analyst is young, but dedicated. The BD guy in San Antonio is VERY good. One Senior Manager is good and dedicated to the company's continued existence.

Cons

Be prepared when you give your two weeks to be shown the door immediately, WITHOUT THEM PAYING YOU for the full two weeks! They will cut you out immediately even though you have a deliverable within those two weeks and are fully prepared to dedicate excess hours to making it a winner for the client. Yes, that's right. They have an emotional reaction and are even willing to tank a major effort you have just started to work on, hurting the company's chances of survival. This was after I was begged to stay, and told "we need you, we need you!" This kind of behavior makes me wish I had left when I first thought about doing so.

This review requires several pivotal clarifications. First, the employee submitted two weeks notice in the midst of a proposal with no commitment to complete it. Second, the employee requested time off in the midst of a busy project to meet with their new employer. All employees have personal obligations to attend to. At that time their request for leave put the company in a compromising position. We appreciate that the resigning employee was forthcoming about the decision to terminate employment with us to pursue a new opportunity. Our decision to escalate the resignation request was executed because it was the best decision for TeAM. Our actions were based on our immediate need to regroup and restrategize. It wasn’t an emotional decision; it was strictly based on the professional needs of our organization. Transitions are customarily difficult processes and we wish all exiting employees nothing but the best in their endeavors. The Senior Management at TeAM respects and appreciates all of our employees and make is a daily practice to follow standard protocol to ensure fair and just treatment.

Pros

Small minority owned company based out of the greater Washington, DC area Government contracting job opportunities in various geographical locations (i.e. San Antonio, Washington D.C.) Good opportunity to experience working with top DoD leadership in an active duty military environment

Cons

Discriminatory salary practices: single women with no children are offered less money for the same type job as men with families Bait and switch tactics:employees are offered one position but in reality will be working in an entirely different capacity, especially those that relocate for a job offer Termination at will: the company has the discretion to fire employees on the spot without provocation or previous counseling. The company will not allow the employee to take personal belongings but be removed by security. Company offers educational benefit package but employee incurs penalties. High turnover, headquarters is a cliquish environment, Project Managers pretend like they don't receive your communications (email, phone calls).

Pros

- Competitive salaries and excellent health insurance. - If you are a rock-star performer, it will be noticed and likely rewarded. - Company is a minority-owned small business and has minorities in several key senior positions. - You can advance quickly here. - The company employs some very talented individuals that are a pleasure to work with.

Cons

- Because the company is so small, you should expect to have to find another job yourself when a contract ends. There is no "bench" between assignments. - Atmosphere is cliquey. While what you know will help you here (see above), who you know will get you farther. For example, office assignments don't seem to be based on seniority. The choice, private offices just seem to go to management's favorites. - The company has a tendency to put inexperienced people in positions of authority. I found myself working under someone who, while extremely talented and intelligent, was not skilled at people management and was relatively inexperienced in general. - HR processes are not mature. For example, they had to lay off several people towards the end of their largest contract and did so with no notice and very limited severance (just a few days). They were mostly senior (and probably expensive) people rather than those who were performing poorly. - By the same token, gross incompetence is not dealt with effectively or swiftly. You should expect to have to work with and for people who aren't very good at their jobs and/or are lazy. While there are a lot of great people here, there is also a lot of dead weight.
