      Great culture, but workload can be overwhelming

      Pros

      It’s a wonderful company to work for, with strong communication across the team. The culture is positive, and the people are great to collaborate with. Fully remote work is a major perk, and the work-life balance is excellent. The benefits are also impressive, including PTO, unlimited sick time, and additional downtime around the holidays.

      Cons

      They tend to take on more than they can realistically manage, which can result in a heavy workload without enough staff to support it. That said, their enthusiasm is admirable. They also went through a significant round of layoffs last year.

      Flexible work-life balance but slow decision-making process

      Pros

      Very flexible and have a great focus on work-life balance. Good benefits, and everyone I’ve worked with has been kind and competent. I genuinely like to work I do and who I do it with.

      Cons

      Things move a little slower than I think they should. The board has too much control and have to approve EVERYTHING. We’re in a market that requires us to be quick and agile to stay ahead and I think it can be detrimental. I do understand that can be the nature of very regulated markets but it’s still frustrating. They also are very against giving out stock but I don’t think salaries are quite at market level for the experience they’re expecting.

      Pros

      I have been here for 5 years, and it has been great for me and my family. My team is awesome and I love working with them. I've taken a lot of parental leave in the past 5 years, and have always felt supported by my company and team before and after taking that time off. My managers have also been very accommodating and allowed me to have a very flexible schedule so I can help out at home more during the day. I think the products are really cool. I like working in healthcare; even if it's slow sometimes, I feel good knowing we're building something that will help people. I'm happy with the projects I get to work on, my salary, and benefits. I've not had a lot of interaction with the leadership team, but from what I've seen in company wide meetings, they genuinely want the company to succeed. Also other coworkers who interact with them more than I do have only ever said good things about them.

      Cons

      Techcyte is remote first. Which could also be a pro, depending on what you want. Remote work has been a pro for me during this season of my life, but I think long term remote work would be a con. It gets lonely sometimes. There has been one company wide layoff since I started 5 years ago, but I don't think that's too different from other tech companies.
