Pros

Zero. None, It's all a load of false promises.

Cons

Here's how it works. The hiring manager sits at the front of the office (clue #1) and interviews people only disclosing that it is 100% commission after you arrive, something they don't bother to share when the job is posted (clue #2). As a 15 year sales pro I have learned a few things, so I hope this helps someone. The 'donkeys' are hired for ZERO pay and will make calls all month. The person who actually makes a sale is directly related to the owner in some way, but you'll likely never know who. Once the 'donkey' quits he/she will be replaced by another 'donkey'. This should be illegal and the labour board should be addressing this, but because it's a 'soul crushing' sales position they never will. My recommendation, just move on. If you want to be in sales look for a base wage + commission to start. With the advent of technology no one deserves to work without compensation.

Pros

Great financial opportunity! BUT, what they sell to customer's is a scam. In other words, the money you will earn is dirty. There are dozens of people who have become multi-multi-millionar's while working with RPM Group. People with lot's and lot's of money, but ZERO value's or class.

Cons

Disconnect between management and staff. Very poor internal communications. Most staff members consistently use unprofessional language all day long, while displaying little to no class. This alone made for a very stressful work environment. So there is no surprise that new people come and go there on a daily bases (literally). Many new employees last less than one day before quitting. Most, less than a week. This constant changeover of staff was very unerving. Like a revolving door. Most of them good people too. Very poor support mixed in with constant contradicting advice from different managers. Overall, a very stressful environment. The only people who would benefit from working there (in my professional opinion), are those willing to sell their soul to the devil. And since I have a greater attachment to honesty and ethics than to any amount of money,.. I left.

Pros

Fun place to work at if your definition of fun is to knock on stangers' doors all day and get told to F-Off by all of them. It's great for homeless people who have no rent to pay. It's like playing the lottery. Odds are stacked against you and you make less than minimum wage if any wage at all. If you hate money and love to work. This is the perfect job for you.

Cons

You're going to feel like a lonely sad rejected homeless man that is begging for some change. That's what your job is. You're knocking doors and begging from morning to sundown for these homeowners to take pity on you and sign your little piece of paper. They will treat you like the little pest you are and slam the door on your face. And you will lose a lot of weight from walking around all day making you look even more like a homeless man. You will lose your self confidence and motivation, because you will try so hard and get nothing. You'll be happy if you get 1 close a week. You don't get paid from signing leads, you get paid when the closer closes your lead. You might have a great week filled with hope because you signed great leads. But it might turn out that your leads are not quality leads. You have to trust the closer's level of competence that you haven't really verified yourself. And you can't close your own leads either. You need 3 average closes per week in order to make minimum wage. Thought it was easy but that's how desperate this job is, people hate you all throughout Ottawa. They hate door to door. You'd wonder why but then you'll realize that it's because it is not respected. You're walking around looking like a scammer and people hate you. You'd hear this phrase quite often "I don't do business door to door." And the company will never tell you what you're getting into, and how people actually hate you. They're putting you at the front lines to be judged and disrespected. While they pay you not one dime. You're being exploited, plain and simple. Unless you have money already to cover yourself for 2 years, then run, it's not so desperate out there, just join the military. It'll not too dissimilar to this job. There you at least will fit in right.
