Pros

-good benefits -great coworkers -hybrid model

Cons

-upper management is awful and does not care about employees -commission structure changes all the time -the company as a whole is very disorganized and no one seems to know what they are doing in leadership -constantly battling internal teams to get things done -HR does not seem to take into consideration employee feedback -the process to get a raise is very difficult and you don’t just earn a raise for exceeding expectations, you have to essentially fight for one -pay is not great compared to similar roles at other companies

Micro Management

Pros

A lot of good people at Tessco. West coast sales team worked well together. Support worked very well with sales team. A good foot into the door for wireless infrastructure sales.

Cons

Upper Management always found ways to micro manage. While applying for a raise, despite hitting goals for 6 quarters in a row, I was told I would find more money with another company.

Pros

The people, most middle management, support teams

Cons

Upper management, over the top expectations, multiple layoffs over the past few years (only to hire again later, only to layoff again), sold their manufacturer Ventev for a quick win for Private Equity then had to deal with lower sales later, only to put the pressure of their sale on the reps to recover lost revenue. Continues to remind all the employees that its just a matter of time they are going to sell the company or merge it.

Pros

Flexible with time. Good base pay for someone out of college. Looks great on a resume. Your average and relatable person works there. Company lunches paid for by vendors.

Cons

High turnover rate with employees, especially with upper management. Changes to commission structure every quarter. Too many product lines to be sold, hard to familiarize yourself with every product.

Pros

Health benefits are very good. They match 50% up to 3% on 401k. Office place is pleasant and right off I-83. Lower level managers are great to work for.

Cons

Pay is below average. The comp adjustment is a complete joke. You have to beg for a raise. Salary employees have to clock in and out. Have to document when you go to lunch or anytime you are away from the computer. It's insulting that they don't trust their own employees. The company is reactive instead of proactive. Upper management is disconnected from the employees. The CEO does not embrace change causing the company to not meet its potential.

Great Atmosphere & Growth Opportunities

Pros

The culture at Tessco is great, the dress code is casual, and the people I work with on my team make every day of work enjoyable. Only being at Tessco for a year and a half, I have already seen so much growth in the company as a whole as well as individual career advancement opportunities. Tessco really invests in their employees and encourages them to pursue a position that can lead to bigger and better things. The industry is fast-paced and continually changing, which makes the job interesting and exciting. I would recommend Tessco as an enjoyable place to work where you can have wonderful coworkers and learn a lot about the wireless industry.

Cons

At times, communication between departments and teams can suffer and cause a delay as well as a lack of productivity. Upper management is continually made aware of these occurrences and make plans for future improvements.

Pros

Decent benefits, friendly coworkers, main corporate office is centrally located and close to commuter routes/stores and restaurants/daycares. New upper management seems to have a good focus on changes that will make TESSCO a stronger company.

Cons

Lack of communication both between and within departments which slows work down and makes things confusing. Wide disparities in management styles: some managers are great, others are too far up their own butts, the remainder are clueless. HR is a prominent player in negative office politics and has some of the worst department turnover. Practically have to beg for proper compensation.
