Pros

Flexibility, no micromanagement, there are no other pros

Cons

The company was sold to Thriveworks recently, and the entire process was dishonest. The leaders of Synchronous were not transparent with clients or employees. Before the acquisition, the company was poorly managed.

Pros

They paid full salary while getting credentialed, so three months of basically no work and getting paid.

Cons

It is a contracted company of Adventist Health in CA Central Valley. Minimal training. It is service for adults that have Medi-cal so the documentation was extensive. Their EHR was miserable and cumbersome. Also was expected to see about 40 clients a week and write notes during sessions. A lot of no shows due to acuity of clients. Many clients were struggling with basic needs (ie housing, food, access to basic healthcare). Had many clients with severe trauma and when referred back to Adventist Health they were told the therapist would be able to see them in-person once a month. Due to so much clinician turnover, you often get other clinicians caseloads. Some clinicians would quit by no notice - just not showing up. They also had no policy and procedures in writing. Chaotic, disorganized, and made me concerned for my license. Not worth it.
