Pros

good commute nice clean building onsite child care onsite cafeteria and gym some of the people are great to work with

Cons

command and control management style, often employing fear and intimidation to control employees they hire cousins, friends, daughter's godmother, etc. so loyalty is valued much more than competence toxic environment for people who have innovative ideas

Pros

On-campus fitness center, daycare facility, cafeteria big pluses. Good healthcare and insurance benefits. Dublin campus located in a suburb with reverse traffic is helpful (esp compared to SF or SJ).

Cons

No telecommuting allowed. Christmas Week mandatory company shutdown uses up a week of worker's vacation time. This is always brought up during "Ask the CEO" sessions; reason given is that we get short vacation (giving up a full week forced to take during Christmas) and no telecommuting so we can enjoy good healthcare. I suspect a lot of people will be willing to pay for higher co-pay or prescriptions if we could work from home a few times a week.

Pros

Dublin HQ is very nice. Benefits are great, but very expensive. Company has been very successful in recent past with record financial results.

Cons

The culture is very fear based and a level of paranoia I have never seen exists within the company. CEO is involved in every decision, no matter how small Thus, employees have no ability to influence the success of the company, which makes it difficult to find meaning in your work. Compensation is well below average for the industry, and sales people are especially poorly compensated as compared to industry. Senior Management is composed of friends and family of CEO, and thus not necessarily the best and the brightest. Old Boy's network is alive and well here. Senior Management ensures that the good old boys are taken care of financially, and the rank and file receive paltry bonuses and no salary increases. Layoffs happened regularly and salaries were frozen for >2 years despite record quarters. Lots of employees have long tenure here, which would make one think that it's a great place to work. In reality, the long tenures exist because few other opportunities exist in the area, and many employees live in the Central Valley and cannot commute to the Valley. Do not take a job at this company unless you are starving.
