      Pros

      Good pay and opportunity to learn multiple disciplines that are transferrable between laboratories and countries. Strong emphasis on patient health.

      Cons

      Centralised business model. Decisions seem top-down and catered towards central workflow which often does not translate well to regions. Regions are multidiscipline scientists (jack of all trades) with little specialisation outside of location specific differences (e.g oncology/women's and children's Hospital/complex transfusion medicine cases). Central scientists are more specialised but don't get the variety of a regional scientist.
