I must start this out with I was in the power division. Other parts of the company seemed to be better run. From my experience, it seemed the leadership was only focused on margins. Sales was only focused on selling jobs at whatever costs. As is normal but they were on different chapters. The result was a constant scramble to make back crazy margins which led to many people just thrown into situations with no guidance or support. The churn was unbelievable, one program had 4 project managers and hired and pushed out nearly a dozen engineers in just 3 years and had a team of 4-5. There were far worse things but, I'll digress.
The culture was particularly odd to me as no one knew anything and no one would answer a question for fear of being drilled which was common. Which put so many good engineers into a position of certain failure which was very sad.
The insidious part of the culture was there was a core group of people that did whatever and were so threatened by expansion or others that they would hoard all the work and never teach anyone anything. It was impossible to be fired but, I witnessed many people being harassed via in random office mandates, nonsense "performance" reviews, and just outright shouting matches. If managers were allowed to fire more freely the company would be half its size. Your career, mental health, and name is too valuable, don't take the risk working here.
I know this is harsh, and I need to be clear other parts of the company might be better. Given the culture and highly unprofessional behaviors of several mangers I can't recommend this company at this time.
