Pros

They are better off financially than a lot of libraries.

Cons

Expect to be relocated to other branches without warning on a regular basis. Cliques and politics run amuck at this authoritarian run library. The administrators are inexperienced and as a result have created a fear-based environment so that they are never questioned. The people who are too afraid to disagree are the ones who get promotions. This results in unqualified and uninspiring followers becoming leaders. They have a high turnover rate. It is not hard to find a better place to work when they have set the bar so low.

Pros

* Decent pay for degree-holding librarians

Cons

* Administration was unresponsive to complaints of sexual harassment surrounding my gender and sexuality * Administration was unresponsive to diversity and inclusion suggestions, unless they wanted to implement it a year later and take all the credit for it * Management asked if I was a hypochondriac when I was filing FMLA paperwork for a serious medical condition * Management flat out stated I wouldn’t be promoted if I continued to miss work to care for my disabled partner * Every time I interviewed for a promotion, I asked for feedback and was told I wasn’t a good “culture fit” * Almost zero diversity in management - no openly queer managers except me, and one Black manager, one Hispanic manager, and that was it * I repeatedly watched other management hire White employees over similarly qualified Black employees

Pros

If you are white this place is great. Was at one time a great place to work( more than 10 years ago)

Cons

Dishonest. Racist and unprofessional. Almost most up upper management is white, most of the non white employees don't think the place is free of racism, but they just won an "award" for eliminating racism in the workplace. the truth is if you are black, you get treat like a facsimile from "The Help"
