Pros

Awesome culture if you like going to high school every morning. If you like working for a company that bases its business model on suing people that can't afford to pay their bills while saying the company is doing those people a favor this place is for you. You also get to see lots of fake smiles, participate in plenty of pointless meetings where leadership asks for your input then chooses not to act on it and wonder if your boss is going to stab you in the back (which really keeps you on your toes). SquareTwo also has a great open door policy where your opinion is solicited (not because your opinion is valued but because leadership wants to know who disagrees with them so they know who to squeeze). By all means share your thoughts but only as long as they are in line with leadership.

Cons

Expensive health insurance (unless you're single without kids), groups of collectors hanging out in the parking lot smoking cigarettes and talking on their cell phones, emotional stress of knowing that you are a small piece of a machine that contributes to the economic hardship and suffering of people and families that are already in a bad spot just so the company executives can get richer and fatter, a culture distinctly reminiscent of high school, pay isn't great considering the cost of living in Denver nowadays, yearly propaganda meetings where the whole staff has to get together and listen to how well the company is going to be doing in the next year or two (but those years just never seem to materialize), watching Paul Larkins pretend like he's Steve Jobs (he isn't).

We appreciate your feedback and want to address your concerns. Our culture is truly built on teamwork and treating our customers fairly, and it is something that is echoed in everything we do here. It seems obvious that this didn't shine through for you, and we want to know why. Our benefits and compensation are highly ranked relative to the Denver market, and we pride ourselves on our culture, but we are always looking for ways to improve. This was possibly not a good fit, but we will take your review to heart and use it to examine the issues you addressed.

Pros

Great benefits, PTO flexibility, pleasant coworkers

Cons

Been with the company a very long time now. I have only made lateral moves within. Promises were made to me for possible promotions but never kept by the supervisor. Leadership in my department is horrible. Supervisors and managers walk right by you like you dont exist. Never any encouragement from my leaders.

Company will be out of business in a year

Pros

Decent salary and benefits. I would only accept a job here if I was unemployed or otherwise desperate to leave my current employer.

Cons

Horrible culture. Incompetent Senior Leadership group comprised of individuals that took this job directly out of college, never graduated from college, or landed in their current position by default. There are some excellent individuals throughout the company that are extremely knowledgeable and competent, but they are few and far between. The leadership in compliance is an absolute joke and will ultimately be the demise of the organization. Extreme incompetence and lack of understanding of the industry and compliance in general is going to result in millions of dollars in fines by the regulators and I do not see the company surviving another year unless they upgrade management to include someone with even a miniscule level of ability and understanding of how to run a company in a regulated environment.
