Pros

None - below average pay, complete lack of diversity on staff, amateur 'product', no onboarding or training, leadership is unprofessional.

Cons

You'd be better off pretty much anywhere.

Pros

SpecterOps has some smart engineers and is known for its attack path management tool, especially for its open-source product, which is used by pentesters. That said, most customers stay with the free version, so the commercial side feels under pressure to prove its value.

Cons

The collaboration between product management and marketing isn’t healthy - it often feels like marketing is content crunching rather than shaping strategy and being careful not to deviate from what their CPO & CTO thinks. When a new executive team joined in mid-2025, the culture shifted drastically. Communication became top-down, middle managers lost visibility, and decisions started happening behind closed doors. Internal mobility seemed limited, and in my case, a similar role was posted externally soon after I was told there were no openings. My position was eliminated without any warning or empathy, even during a personal emergency. SpecterOps has potential, but if you value transparency, collaboration, and genuine leadership, you might want to look elsewhere.
