Pros
As a budding jr. copywriter I was provided a very juicy opportunity to work with great mentors in the industry within a small agency setting, where everyone worked together across departments to get the job done. Often, some of our best creative ideas came out of impromptu collaboration sessions with the media department. In fact, I worked so closely with Ryan and Andrew from the account department that I even stopped referring to them as “account people”. This no-siloed approach to the business, at the beginning of my career, gave me the foundation always consider unique approaches in the pursuit of work that is both groundbreaking and moves the dial.
Solve doesn’t mess around when it comes to building out their roster, either. I had the chance to work on some very notable brands such as True Value, Sunoco, Organic Valley, Founders Brewing, Porsche and Bentley. Plus, it was always a fun place to work. Where else does one get a chance to pick up their kids from daycare in a Bentley?
Cons
It can be a fast-paced environment. It's an agency that demands excellence at all levels, which is required to do the kind of work we all want to feel proud to share. You have to be prepared for times when it's all hands on deck and everyone has to dig in to get right ideas over the line. It's not for everyone.
