Pros

Some smart folks in the room. Small agency Hustle. Nice clients

Cons

Mean girls club and some toxic attitudes from people who should just move on. They think that its cool to be agro and feared. Many closed door side conversations happening, and there is someone who is too close to leadership who has created toxicity and thrives in gossip. She will drag you and your co workers name in the mud. Ask questions, but expect to be treated like a fool for it. Keep your head down and stay out of the negativity circles. Good luck.

Pros

As a budding jr. copywriter I was provided a very juicy opportunity to work with great mentors in the industry within a small agency setting, where everyone worked together across departments to get the job done. Often, some of our best creative ideas came out of impromptu collaboration sessions with the media department. In fact, I worked so closely with Ryan and Andrew from the account department that I even stopped referring to them as “account people”. This no-siloed approach to the business, at the beginning of my career, gave me the foundation always consider unique approaches in the pursuit of work that is both groundbreaking and moves the dial. Solve doesn’t mess around when it comes to building out their roster, either. I had the chance to work on some very notable brands such as True Value, Sunoco, Organic Valley, Founders Brewing, Porsche and Bentley. Plus, it was always a fun place to work. Where else does one get a chance to pick up their kids from daycare in a Bentley?

Cons

It can be a fast-paced environment. It's an agency that demands excellence at all levels, which is required to do the kind of work we all want to feel proud to share. You have to be prepared for times when it's all hands on deck and everyone has to dig in to get right ideas over the line. It's not for everyone.

Pros

Tons of experience on staff: Strong creative, connection strategy, PM and account teams - which creates an engaging environment for learning and growing and many opportunities for smart, well-done work. Great manager: My manager taught me so so so many things and advocated strongly for my development, always focusing on making the work better and teaching me along way. She prioritized my growth and never missed a 1:1 - I still consider her a great friend and mentor today. Lots of chances for learning: Solve is a small shop - as such, people are expected to wear many hats and try a lot of new things, which pushes people to become well-rounded hand-raisers. Camaraderie in spades: The team believes in the vision of the "collective might" and holds regular happy hours and events for socializing.

Cons

Long hours (typical for ad agencies). It's also a small shop, which can add to the long hours when there's turnover. Not a ton of POC representation on staff + lots of dudes in leadership when I was there (again, pretty typical of most shops) - seems like since I've left they've increased diversity which is promising.
