Pros

- Big-name clients and opportunities to create a strong network of contacts - Competitive salaries for the office in Greece - Interesting field (market research)

Cons

- Main problem lies with the CEO, who creates a state of perpetual chaos. He displayes poor understanding of the company's real challenges and tends to prioritise unimportant details over critical issues. He places little to no trust in most employees, including subject matter experts and department heads, resulting in micromanagement, and rash and uninformed decision-making. At the same time, there is favouritism towards a few select people, whose opinions are followed unquestioningly. The CEO never admits, or even recognises, his own mistakes and always finds scapegoats for any major issues that crop up due to poor leadership. - Overall strategy changes every three months and previous strategy becomes obsolete before there is time to determine whether it was actually effective or not. Goals set are often unrealistic and policies are not followed through. - Company is small (20 people) and lacks resources, but management attempts to compete head-on with much larger companies with thousands of employees. This usually results in overworked employees who are blamed for not reaching the unrealistic goals set to them. It also results in low employee morale and high turnover.

Hi - we didn't employ anyone in Junior Sales ops in the period you reference. If this is for a comment for an interview as someone applying for our currently open Junior Sales Ops Assistant - then I do acknowledge that we have several steps as part of our hiring process, which can mean a lot of work for someone applying, but it's a necessary evil as we have very specific requirements for both performance and cultural fit. If you have any specific suggestions on how to improve our hiring process, do email me at andreas@slashdata.co Andreas - CEO & Founder

Pros

High impact - small company working for some of the world’s largest tech companies and providing input to their strategic planning Great people - one of the friendliest and most helpful teams I’ve ever come across Very remote friendly - employees in multiple timezones and a lot of asynchronous workflows, but also make a big effort to use video chat and include everyone in celebrations and team building activities

Cons

Tendency to be permanently over-stretched. Always trying to do more than the team really has capacity for. It’s difficult to say no to interesting projects / products for high profile clients. If you like a challenge it’s very rewarding to deliver such a volume of work successfully, but it’s not easy to sustain long term. Frequent tweaking of the company strategy can be frustrating.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Indeed, we assume all the team is distributed, and rely on online tools rather than the odd "water cooler conversation" between people that happen to be in the office to ensure communication flows smoothly. I hear you about the stress of taking on ambitious projects for high profile clients in the past and stretching the team. Not sure when you worked at /Data. In 2019 our priorities are based on a 100% top-down goal setting, starting from 3-year goals (reviewed annually) to 1-year goals, 1 year strategic priorities and 3 month goals down to each individual team member. Goals are agreed with each person every 3 months and so it's up to each individual to be accountable for their goals. If you have additional comments on how we can improve please reach out to andreas@ on how we can improve. Andreas Constantinou - CEO
