Pros

Nice people, the turnover rate clearly shows that they can't keep good people.

Cons

I am positive that the CEO has asked the team to write amazing reviews on Glassdoor, don't buy into the façade. Turnover is insane, the culture is horrible and more than half of the employees there are college buddies. Very depressing, unpleasant, and sad work environment.

Pros

-Smart young staff -mission is cool -remote if you like that

Cons

The CEO has no trust in anyone but himself. Cringe things you only read in tech crunch stories: “I’m the ceo, and I can do whatever I want.” He has a few allies who shrug at his behavior, excuse it, and say “we’ve tried talking to him, we’ve recommended an executive coach.” There is no actual HR - be weary if you have issues and raise them, because you’ll get ignored by people who are aware of the situation. After expressing concern about some of the issues I had raised, I didn’t hear from a single one of my colleagues for weeks. In a remote work environment, that was isolating enough to feel like my experience (AND I) didn’t matter. I’ve heard the words “dumb idea” “stupid assumptions” and “this is messed up- removed profanities” so many times that I started to believe it about myself. The KPIs cannot be questioned, but they make no sense even when presented with data as to why - you get shut down and told “well we’ve fired people before who say these goals are not able to be met” All of this stuff aside there is zero career progression goals from senior leadership. Zero energy into nourishing employees and you’re often chastised or looked down on when you do. You’re told to forget about training and growth and focus on the metrics. After all, “we’ve hired temps to do this work before and can do it again.” Also cares more about people using acronyms than their names and says things like “who cares about this person, they’ve been here for 9 seconds.” The culture and values they preach get lost after your day 2 of onboarding. The list goes on, but I’ll spare you more of the details.

Pros

SI has a driven team, most of which sees that the company culture falls short and is open to building a stronger team dynamic and working relationship with one another.

Cons

Long hours; breaks are discouraged; input seems to be more valued than output. Leadership at the company has no strong directional visions; it often feels like the company is chasing competitors and trying to keep up rather than creating products from their own vision. Though the CEO claims to believe the best solution or idea should be chosen, ideas that come from the CEO himself are often "irrefutable." There is almost a blind following around the CEO, and those who question any plan of action are slowly pushed out.
