A great startup that has lost it's way.

Pros

So many people from the early days believe in the culture and mission, are still there. They want to see it through. There are a ton of great fringe benefits. The pay "almost" to market. People are generally really cool, and easy to work with. Most people have good intentions in what they do. The 3 amazing founders still work for the company and are highly engaged.

Cons

With growth comes those that have corporate experience and agendas. So much internal politics, it never used to be like this. Lately too many people are being hired who are professionally mid-management types. Instead of promoting from within, they tend to look outside the company. There is a lot of technical debt that makes it's hard to innovate. The company is losing it's culture fast with all the new executives. Communication is poor. Even though it's frequent, it lacks substance. The company has completely instituted a traditional management hierarchy and gone away from a flat organization. The entire executive team who built the company has left, being replaced by new people.

Pros

Free lunch and snacks

Cons

The company states is has Values that reflect the 4 H's, Honest, Happy, Humble, and Hungry. All of Denver management or most do not follow the values in treating employees with respect and giving them the opportunity to succeed. This is why so many good people leave the company. Stay away -

Pros

The people are 4H: humble, hungry, honest, and happy. I enjoy working with these intelligent and motivated people. You are hard pressed to find similar technical challenges and career growth opportunities in SoCal; the systems are highly concurrent and operate at scale with a large existing customer base.

Cons

We are still struggling to develop solid development environments. Our stack is varied and complex, and while we make progress in making development easier for ourselves, there is room for a lot of growth in this area.
