      Pros

      Great flexibility in regards to schedule across most departments. Lots of autonomy, typically not meeting heavy. Fully remote.

      Cons

      Salary & benefits aren’t competitive when compared to similarly sized companies within the industry. Some concerning nepotism w/in company - CEO’s wife is VP of engineering for example. Most importantly: leadership is aiming for an IPO, & as a result, company has undergone significant downsizing with more rounds of reduction likely in the future.

      Mismanaged & Toxic

      Pros

      Talent & Diversity amongst the lower level employees.

      Cons

      Toxic Work Culture... you can never do enough, very much a "what have you done for me lately" mindset. Poor Executive Leadership... ask for advice but never follow it. No Career Path... have quaterly reviews but no follow through in goals or even feedback, you get a surprise email with feedback versus a meeting. HR plays favorites... when you surface issues, they are often ignored or initially acted as if important but then swept under the rug. Onboarding & Enablement... expect to navigate on your own, there is very slim support from HR to Product Marketing neither truly sets you up for success.

      Negative Culture & Product but High Compensation

      SearchStax does pay their employees well. They recently hired a fantastic Sales Manager that is unlike anyone else in leadership here. She is supportive, believes in culture, cares about her team, has phenomenal sales acumen & believes in being a subject matter expert. Maybe if they will allow here to bleed into the organization she can help improve things here.

      Cons

      Extremely negative & condescending culture. Their CEO is highly negative, judgmental and micromanaging. Being on the sales team, he has a daily meeting to tell you how bad you are and if you ask for help the answer is, "just tell the story and let the SE's show the details." I think you need to know as much as you can to illustrate value to prospects but this is not the case here. If you don't have experience in the site search or Solr infrastructure industry you will not be successful here no matter how hard you try. Their value statement doesn't exist. When I asked how we are better than ANY competitor there was no answer except being cheaper which isn't enough to be passionate about selling something. There is literally 0 onboarding here and if you need help from sales enablement be prepared for great condescension & belittling as well. I went to the two other reps with all my questions before the new sales manager because no one else will help you here.

First, I want to acknowledge the specific criticism regarding my leadership style. I recognize that my direct communication style may not always resonate with everyone, and I'm committed to reflecting on this feedback and adapting my approach. My intention has always been to drive excellence and empower our team, but I understand that my methods may have inadvertently created a negative perception. Second, we are actively working to address the issues raised around onboarding, training, and support. Now that we have the right Sales Manager in place, I am confident that are on a strong path to enhancing our sales enablement and fostering a more collaborative and supportive environment. Finally, I want to reiterate that we value our employees and are dedicated to creating a positive work environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and motivated. We will be actively seeking feedback from our team to ensure we are taking the right steps to improve our culture and create a workplace where everyone can thrive.
