Pros

-Good Health Benefits -Office Drinks and Fruit -Fair Pay

Cons

I worked at Scrypt for 1.5 years and recently moved on to a better opportunity. The below review of Scrypt represents my personal opinion on the company. Benefits: Scrypt offers great health benefits which exceed the industry standard in Austin. They provide drinks and fresh fruit which I consider a norm for the Austin tech world. Other than that, they really do not offer anything special in regards to great benefits. Once every blue moon, they will have a company outing after work, but they have not organized anything in 2016 that I know of. There is absolutely no alcohol on premises and to my knowledge the company has never organized a happy hour. Pay and Bonus: From my experience the company offers fair pay. I will say that their bonus payout is lacking in terms of industry standards in the city. Opinion on Finance Management: As a member of the Accounting and Finance team, I suggest that potential applicants stay away from the company. The Accounting and Finance leadership have created a toxic environment that is not conducive to growth and happiness. The CFO has mismanaged the accounting department to the point that the entire accounting team present 1 year ago has left the company. The CFO fails to take responsibility for the shortcomings of the department and shoves all the blame on a single individuals in the department. Also as a judge of character, he refused to payout my earned annual bonus even though I was employed for all of 2015. For anyone looking at a financial role at Scrypt, please avoid. There are plenty of opportunities in this city.

Accounting for a FAST50, publicly-listed cloud services business can be exacting, as the department becomes the conduit for all financial activity. As we have acquired two companies and added four new product brands in 14 months, it is understandable that not everyone is able to reach the standards necessary and cope with the heavy demands placed upon them. We encourage all our staff members to use the tools we have made available, and come to us early to rectify these kinds of issues and prevent things getting out of hand. We liked having you as part of the team and wish we could have had constructive dialogue to make your work situation better. Thank you for letting us know your concerns now. We will consider them seriously and take appropriate action if deemed necessary. ~ Aleks Szymanski, CEO

Management Listens and Delivers

Pros

The management works hard to make the company a good place to work. It's clear that the CEO cares about keeping the employees happy and is delivering benefits as the company grows. They deliver on their promises. Good product outlook, especially since the company merged and added more products.

Cons

There have been product delays. Some couldn't be helped, but some were due to the lack of development resources and not great planning. That seems to be working itself out as the company grows. Wish there was a more liberal vacation policy, two weeks is a bit old school.

Can be challenging to get answers. Can take time for changes to happen in regards to benefits but in time they do happen.
