Good company - Very poor Management

Pros

Fast-paced environment, lots of smart people working in the company, and new challenges surfacing constantly.

Cons

Management is young and inexperienced. They burned through cash rapidly and to "fix" this they let go ~40% of the workforce. No heads up, pretty much no severance, everything was total chaos internally.

Pros

Strong mission and tight nit team culture. Lots of nice perks and company retreats.

Cons

As mentioned in some other reviews here, leadership has high turn over and lacks ethics. Lots of nepotism internally to the founder's family and friends, despite competence. The CEO also work on multiple companies simultaneously, and just visibly absent. Stretching of the truth in business deals and communication has been commonplace. A lot of corners are cut in the science. Poor reputation with the service providers they work with. Feels a lot like the stories of Theranos - strong mission, strong charismatic founder, but lying and nepotism are rampant.

Pros

Good mission and team is passionate about making a difference. Team is very hard working, despite founder problems.

Cons

Terrible leadership and lots of turnover. Original founding team left by the time I arrived. Technical co-founder was pushed out. 80% of original team seems to have left. Remaining two founders were married to each other, but separated recently. Have brought a lot of their personal problems into work, and are mostly absent from day to day operations. Lots of personal and unprofessional drama. Very little business guidance or strategy to take company forward any more.
