A failing ship

Pros

Unfortunately, my time with this company has been majority negative. HSA with the PPO health plan. Standard 5% 401k match.

Cons

Poor financial performance over 5+ years. Leadership is unable to turn this around, regardless of changing heads of HR, COO, and Presidents 5 times in 3 years. Poor management in operations and supply chain. Consistently misses self-imposed goals for customer satisfaction and quality control issues Toxic culture that does not value employees. Because of the poor financial performance, customer satisfaction, and quality issues, the only focus is on the bottom line while leaving a trail of bodies in the wake. Hired people into remote and then terminated them for being unable to go into an office 3 days per week. Benefits are standard to sub-par. Employee share ownership plan is not worth buying into due to the poor stock performance. Also due to poor financial performance, bonus eligible employees will not receive their full bonus. Time off is one of the worst on the market. Salaried employees accrue time as opposed to receiving up front. Only 15 days for the year, none can be rolled over. This is inclusive of sick time. Does not recognize Good Friday, MLK, or NYE as holidays Overall? The HR department seems to be unaware of basic employment laws and how to support employees in all things related to employment (onboarding, development, performance management, offboarding). Finance also seems to be incapable. Definitely recommend looking elsewhere due to culture and finances.

IT - changing environment

Pros

Good benefits (stock, insurance), money is OK, some hokey tickets contests which is almost impossible to win (1 in 3000), nice cafeteria ($)

Cons

Cubicles, access-bad location, IT is restructuring so management is still "adjusting", low on staff, burocracy (Specially projects), environment is very Microsoft oriented, conservative and rather boring. Going up the ladder is almost impossible, they hire their friends and consulting companies (like Avanade) to do the fun work.
