Pros

Somehow, they hire amazing people completely opposite to themselves. My co-workers were outstanding and the reason I stayed as long as I did.

Cons

Noxious, horrible, terrifying. For a tiny, busy law office doing such precise work, management removes themselves from what's going on. They do no work. Their employees, in light of what they're responsible for, get paid a pittance. There is no room for growth, just raises until you hit a pathetic salary ceiling. There is no trust here. Management's attitudes are petty, amoral, and antiquated, and inappropriate behaviors, discussions, and actions abound. I have seen so many wonderful clients and employees suffer because of their laziness, sloppiness, and cruelty.

Cool job; toxic work environment.

Pros

The kind of work this law firm does is great - I loved working with my clients. This could be a great job if management weren’t emotionally abusive, and often downright unethical. And they seem to have no problem hiring people with no experience, which is super rare.

Cons

A truly, deeply noxious work environment. Management is extremely manipulative and passive aggressive, and they regularly bad mouth employees to their coworkers. Everyone is overworked, underpaid, and under-appreciated. Working here had serious effects on my mental and physical health (yes, seriously).

Pros

They have a great selection of snacks.

Cons

I found this firm on Indeed advertising an open Immigration Paralegal/Writer position. After 2 interviews and a writing assessment, I was told that I was hired and given assignments. I turned in my assignments on time and actively pursued training relative to the feedback I was given. I also want to note that this feedback included multiple notes regarding my capacity as a writer and the high potential for me to produce what the firm needed from me. I bring up this last note because it figured largely into the disorientation I experienced when I was fired after 9 days. The manager explained those 9 days were "a trial period," and that I had been in-office auditioning, which I would not have agreed to if explained to me in advance. I left a full-time position for this job because I was not aware I was entering a game-show-style competition. I do not understand how I managed to make it through multiple interviews, pass the office's writing assessment, and receive a great-deal of positive feedback, only to be dismissed after 9 days.
