Pros

Well to be fair they do pay you on time (not to be taken for granted for sometimes when you’re working in the art world)

Cons

Casual racism, Inaptitude that runs rampant because of nepotism... There’s an Instagram page called cancel art galleries and Sutton is the subject of two dedicated posts.

Pros

Impressive client list. Reputable brand

Cons

Horrible senior management, no transparency and anti-creativity. Unintegrated strategies and methods. Rude manners and mismanaged clients. Energy sucker. Labor abuse. The way they treat staffs is random. Daily admin and logistical tasks have even been assigned to service team as they don’t hire one to cover. London headquarter doesn’t care. Former colleagues left either in a bad way or left with zero look-back.

Pros

Sutton is a cultural communications agency like no other. With an incredible client roster of the highest caliber of cultural projects, no two days at work are the same. This job has taken me around the world, working on the most amazing cultural events - launching new museums, exhibitions and art fairs, working with world-class artists, architects, curators, collectors and helping to build brands for some of the most interesting arts initiatives. There is a strong team spirit, and I would even count some colleagues (both present and past, and around the world) as some of my closest friends.

Cons

It is a fast paced communications agency, with very high professional standards. You are often juggling multiple deadlines and client priorities, with a lot of travel across the region too. It is hard work! And that fast paced style isn't for everyone - it isn't uncommon for team members to leave after a year or two, particularly to go in house.
