The buildings have bathrooms and the lights work.

Cons

Directors taking so much time off that it's fraud waste and abuse... meanwhile we get dicked over... no bonus pay... barely any OT...

Pros

If you are a recent graduate, it is a good place to hone your skills. Good insurance.

Cons

The hiring practices here are extremely deceptive. While they provide you with a schedule, they fail to communicate that you will be expected to stay several hours past your scheduled time whenever they deem a case to be urgent. These cases are rarely truly urgent; rather, the physician prefers for you to handle anxious patients instead of them taking the time to educate them. Be sure to negotiate your wage with the understanding that you will be required to stay as long as they need you, whenever they need you; if you can't stay, you’ll be seen as the problem. This is not an isolated issue. Yearly raises are only about 2%, which do not keep up with inflation, so negotiate with that in mind as well. This company is extremely focused on profit rather than patient care. They lack a late patient policy and have no reasonable STAT patient policy; every patient must be seen as soon as possible. Late, early, add-on, all at once... don't matter.. figure it out. This leads to significant issues and conflicts between patients and staff due to long wait times. If patients start to complain, you become the problem because you did not rush through exams fast enough. There are no scheduled lunch breaks, and schedules are packed so chaotically that you must figure out how to cut exams short if you want to take a break. If a radiologist complains that your exam wasn’t as thorough as it could have been because you were rushed, it is seen as your failure. You will be expected to call the patient back in and address the issue; clearly, any incompetence lies with you. Need to see a doctor? It’s a hassle to get coverage, and you'll have to use your PTO. Want to visit a doctor right after work? Good luck getting out on time. Looking for other employment opportunities? You’ll struggle to find time during your packed 8-to-5 schedule. They create an environment where it is nearly impossible to seek other opportunities or utilize your health insurance or take time off. The burn out rate here is extremely high. The patient satisfaction scores and employee satisfaction scores completely reflect that but, if you speak up or suggest reasonable changes, management will gaslight and attempt to convince you that YOU are the problem. Management employs outdated managerial techniques that resemble your “granddad's work culture.” There is no common-sense approach to employee issues; you are simply expected to endure silently. The only incentive here is to avoid punishment. "That's the job."
