Pros

Great pay, good benefits. Love working on different accounts.

Cons

used to work for Cardinal until they were bought out by Ryder. When it was Cardinal it was the best job I ever had in trucking. Since Ryder took over not so much! I am what they call a flex account truck driver, money is GREAT, but now that I work under Ryder things have rapidly changed and not for the good! When I worked with Cardinal I had my own sleeper truck, now I have a day cab. Now they are telling me I have to buy a car to travel from account to account since I do not have a sleeper. I did not become a trucker to have to use a personal car. I don’t make enough to pay 2 car payments and additional insurance and my immediate supervisor could care less when I tried to explain this. Guess it is time to move on! Shame since I have been working with them for 7 yrs. Would be nice if management would listen to my concerns!

Pros

You get to work on real supply chain problems that actually matter to operations, not just theoretical stuff. Remote flexibility is solid and the work-life balance is fair. The tech stack is modern (Snowflake, Azure, Power BI) and if you're someone who takes initiative, you'll get the chance to own things end-to-end. The people you work with day-to-day are genuinely good and most teams have a collaborative culture.

Cons

Growth from senior level and beyond can be painfully slow even when you're clearly doing the work above your role. Leadership and org changes happen often which resets your visibility and momentum with whoever is advocating for you. Some areas still lack clear ownership so things fall through the cracks or land on whoever is willing to pick them up. Pay doesn't always reflect the scope of what you're actually doing.
