Revcontent is an oddity in Sarasota, FL. There are not many tech companies around, and Revcontent is the best in this area. John Lemp and his team do a good job in running what is a dynamic and high-pace line of business (online advertising). I feel their business rhythms are driven by the industry and stiff competition. It seems that Revcontent is a strong competitor in the space, and they are making money and forging ahead with acquisitions.
Cons
The online advertising industry is not a place for boy scouts. You need to make money where you can, and while you can. Then move on to the next market opportunity. While working there, I did't really understand that at first. However, this mentality makes it difficult to make long term changes as you don't know what the future holds.
Working at RevContent is fun. The environment is pretty easygoing. There is no be here at X and leave at Y, as long you as you get your work done you can leave for appointments, etc.
The co-workers, are not only awesome, but really good at what they are doing which helps elevate the stress of having to do everything. You can rely on your coworkers when you are not around and they can rely on you when they are not.
Management is nothing like I have worked with before. Not only do they include you in discussions about the system, features and new technologies, but they actually listen when you suggest something good.
Development wise the challenge grows as you go further, from the new technologies we constantly add to the new ways to improve the system and make efficient for the constant growing user base.
Cons
No Carvel close by -which can also be a pro as well!
