Pros

Co-workers helpful, majority of staff and lower management are actually trying hard to make the business better. The product was good, if only they could sort out some of the software bugs.

Cons

Very poor management structure now. Lee Jones was sidelined a while back, and in my opinion was passionate for the future of the company. After he was removed as CEO things went downhill. Dare to speak out and put forward a differing view on how to achieve a goal will make you a target for management. Only concern is pipeline and getting sales, no forward planning beyond ramping up the figures and "I suspect" selling the business on to another company No real focus on customer satisfaction, just lip service, we lost sales due to an inability to fix obvious issues faster. Staff turnover is the worst I have ever seen (I count close to 50 staff in 2 years have gone - company only has approx. 100 people) , clearly the HR process is broken or the leadership is wrong or more likely both.

Horrendous place trying to silence their employees

Pros

I'm sat here struggling to think of a single plus, but there is literally none that come to mind.

Cons

Awful management, unrealistic targets and a terrible working atmosphere. I cannot sum up just how bad this place has become and the direction it's headed. If you take one thing from this review just please, please avoid. Management have stooped so low that they have resorted to posting ficticious positive reviews, and sending emails out to staff actively encouraging this behaviour. There is huge change at the moment due to a new CEO, but it is a volatile time and things are not improving. Do not let them persuade you any different, they talk good spiel just to get you in the door.

Pros

Some great people in the support department, however they will all inevitably leave as the majority are actively looking for work elsewhere.

Cons

Senior management are the core issue, but this stems from the blinded approach where revenue is the only focus. A completely wrong approach to almost every aspect of making a company a great place to work. Regularly subjected to demands from senior management, including forced overtime and sudden changes in KPI's. There is a very strong blame culture and general lack of respect for staff. Annual leave is left unauthorised for extended periods of time, quizzed about medical appointments and inflexible over childcare arrangements. The business is very disjointed as everyone is so pressured that people are unwilling to help because this distracts from their own unrealistic targets. Particular employees get preferable treatment, way too much passing the book and some departments in particular bare the brunt of all issues. During my first few months at the company, at one point one employee per week was being sacked. There is no progression available within the business, zero training provided and only a handful of employees have been there over 12 months now. The company needs a complete overhaul, preferably a buy out by a big corporation. There needs to be processes put in place, a positive culture introduced and rewards or incentives provided. I cannot think of any benefits to working at Red Box, besides the few great people left working there. I hope they get out!
