Toxic Offshore Management (Outside the USA/South America): Offshore management, particularly in India, has been a significant drawback. While the FAE leadership in India is relatively strong, the broader team suffers from serious professionalism and culture issues. Unprofessional Work Culture: Both the FAE and R&D teams in India often display unprofessional behavior. The management style is toxic and counterproductive, with one problematic leader negatively influencing the entire team. Lack of True R&D in India: There is little to no genuine research and development work being done by the Indian team. The focus remains on maintenance and quality assurance tasks, despite management’s misleading portrayal of it as core development. Manipulative Retention Tactics: Instead of offering fair, performance-based increments, management often waits until an employee is about to leave to offer hikes, making retention feel more like a negotiation tactic than genuine appreciation. Unreasonable Workload and Deadlines: Employees are often expected to work around the clock due to arbitrary deadlines and blockers set by the FAE team. Many projects require significant effort but yield minimal impact or business value.
