Bad culture

Business outlook

Pros

A growing startup that has actual users

Cons

Management treats employees like soldiers, you get yelled at periodically. Somewhat 'ars' culture: at a 100-people COVID-19 zoom, the CEO offered to send a fake SMS to guys that can't stay at home with their wives any longer, threatening to fire them "unless they come work at the office", so they have an excuse to get out of home. Basic software development practices are unheard-of. Managers are amateur and proud. Immediately after the COVID crisis began, the CEO prohibited working from home, regarding the virus as 'just a flu'. You're explicitly discouraged to have a work/life balance, because "we're gonna stay here until 1AM if the problem isn't solved". Working hours are measured via fingerprint, because of course no-one can be trusted. Websites are blocked unless related to work somehow (censorship).

Hi Former Rapyder. Thanks for sharing your views. Rapyd takes a lot of pride in our culture and work environment. It's a key reason we are one of the fastest-growing Fintech startups in the world. But, our fast-paced and high-intensity work environment might not suit everyone perfectly. Due to the global nature of our work we certainly do work longer hours sometimes. That's why we are constantly checking in on our teams to understand how they are doing through things like companywide employee satisfaction surveys, 1:1 with HR at least quarterly, town halls with open and anonymous Q&A and fireside chats with our global executive team. As a result, the vast majority of our employees are happy to work at Rapyd. In our most recent employee satisfaction survey 94% of our staff in Tel Aviv indicated that overall they were happy to work at Rapyd, and 86% said their managers visibly demonstrated a commitment to quality. Despite these great results, we continue improving and launched a mentorship program among many other initiatives to improve satisfaction and overly professionalism. We're sorry to hear that your experience wasn't as positive as you wished, but thank you for your feedback and good luck in your future endeavors.
