Pros

Good place to get experience in Corporate environment if you have worked before in a hotel or in hospitality in general.

Cons

The contract is very basic as Rapport is a contractor providing office services for companies. You get 20 days of annual leave, NO sick pay, no annual bonuses or salary increases during two years at Rapport. This should be improved. I had a feeling like I was just a number in the company. While serving the clients you have to stand up in front of every person coming to the reception(One of Rapport's company standards) which can make you feel very robotic especially when you have a queue of people coming to the building. At Rapport the management is pushing you to post on their internal Facebook(my rapport) some staff like pictures and positive comments about the company. In general you have to be very fake if you want to be recognise and get some promotion.

It is very important to us that Rapport Ambassadors feel that they can bring their whole authentic selves to work. This is why we are very focused on our diversity and inclusion strategy, for which we have recently won the HR in Hospitality award for Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion. We take feedback very seriously and look at opportunities to make Rapport an even better place to work. From the most recent feedback received, we have made changes to our annual leave and sickness benefit which has been very well received by the business. We have increased annual leave allowances for our front line teams and we have revised and improved our sickness policy. We want to improve the staff benefits for our teams and focus on the wellbeing of our Ambassadors. This is a huge ongoing focus for our leadership team to ensure that we’re offering the most competitive and appealing offer to our ambassadors. Our internal engagement platform is designed for our business to ensure that everyone can access tools and information in one place. Holidays are booked and managed via this platform as well, so if any of our ambassadors want to request a holiday, they would need to go via the platform. There are no other obligations from anyone in the business to post, we only encourage using the platform as it contains so much useful information.
