Pros
Good company for young professionals starting their career. Learn basic database principles (SQL) which you can build on and get a good understanding of how it overall works (manipulating data). Get a good understanding of the agile framework RSI uses to get through different projects.
Cons
There are multiple people working on different projects since some require more work than others. This affects people who are working on one project especially the consultants who may have questions. Many consultants are in the hot seat when work doesn't get done on time even though supervisors and management aren't balancing their time correctly. Additionally, the client has frequent changes on a work item that is completed or close to being completed. This means the work will have to go back to the beginning of the process and must be redeveloped and tested.

Not the worst place I've worked
13 Jan 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Benefits are recently changed and pretty good compared to other companies. Pay is decent for the job you're doing, but that may depend on what department you're in. The departments I've worked with have been pretty diverse.
Cons
There's a lack of direction in some places and I occasionally I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels. Some of the people at RSI don't know what they're doing while others are great, but that's true everywhere. Overall, there seems to be a lack of planning. There's no clear career progression in some departments.

For Tax and Revenue SMEs, RSI is the right place to work
31 Oct 2022 - Director, Product ManagementRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I love the vision and direction of our product strategy. RSI is investing to build the next generation of tax and revenue products, using a modern technology approach. This includes cloud native, microservices, UX design, low-code no-code, drag and drop, and multi-tenant SaaS. This will really disrupt the industry, and is very exciting. What I love is knowing that what we are doing will really help government agencies, which benefits us all. I feel good about what we are doing! I also really like working from home, and RSI has fully embraced the work from home movement.
Cons
There aren't may cons. We work hard, I feel like we run 100 mph all day long, but we don't work nights and weekends, which is nice.

Pros
The work is typically secure with projects ranging in the multi-year length. They seem to be winning a lot of new work and there are opportunities out there to advance your career. Remote work is the norm, especially after COVID. Pay was market and as of recent, they are trying a lot of new programs for employee wellness. Fairly standard industry type programs, its a good start even if a few years late.
Cons
A lot of senior leadership changes in the past year. Focus has been on selling new work and growing into new markets. Meanwhile, current projects are on fire. Things that should have been more common 4-5 years ago (like promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion) are just now making it into their core values. While newer and younger hires show more diversity, senior leadership is decidedly less diverse. There is also a political center of power centered in the Northeastern US (their headquarters is in the Boston area). If you are not affiliated to that and on a smaller project, it is much harder to get noticed and rewarded for your contributions.

Pros
Company is rapidly growing. Invests in its people and is seriously investing a new state of the art product. Completely remote.
Cons
Some troubled projects but those are moving in right direction.

I do not recommend working for RSI - 3+ years previously employed
29 Mar 2022 - ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Decent pay - Some managers are good
Cons
I do not recommend working at this employer. I came into this job right out of my university and thought it was a good first job to start my IT career. There are many cons to this jobs with the pros being that the pay is decent and there are very few good managers. The mains cons are that the projects are WAY behind which leads to long hours, the management is very bias towards favorable employees, C-suite seem to be in their own universe, the PTO is bad, there is very little communication and when there is, it is all fluff and high level information, and overall their isn't much learning. Please advise that the reviews on Glassdoor have been pumped up to get a high rating (from HR or from certain current employees). About a year ago, it was around 2.8. Cons: - Extended hours - Little to no communication from the top - Little training - No deadlines are hit - Projects are behind - Bias management - Bad PTO - Expensive Premiums
