Pros

A young university with good staff (academic and staff)

Cons

1. Dictatorial management style without check and balances 2. Lecturers are burdened with 5 subjects, thus reducing quality of teaching and is not complying with MQA rules 3. Decisions are made in haphazard manner and key staffs are not consulted 4. Too much reliance on marketing and not much on Academic research 5. No bonus and minimal increment 6. Lots of discrimination based on race 7. Lots of politics in terms of favoritism and personal relationships 8. The COO wields a dictatorial approach and is a non academic resulting in many bad decisions pertaining to academic matters 9. Lots of micro management 10. No clear career path for staff 11. An unindependent HR function which kowtows to COO

Worst work place ever

Pros

Small company, very few division and decision can be made in short time.

Cons

Surprised to see so many good reviews for this place, it is believe that many of these comments are fake and lie. This place doesn't operate for more than 10 years, how could previous review claimed that he/she had worked for more than 10 years? This company will only offer a job, but not a career. Management never plan for your career and will never provide any good platform for their staff to achieve a greater success. Lack of staff welfare, basically everything under the roof, the employee need to pay for themselves. Pre-employment medical check, bring your own personal laptop to work, charges parking (in Ipoh). So far no bonus was declared and increment was as low as RM50 per year. Besides, the increment only take effect in November annually and regardless when the employee leave their current job, at least 11 months of increment will be forfeited. Bad office culture, everyone just perform at their minimum level of contribution since there is never a bonus and increment is way too low. Many were at retirement age and staying there to kill the time. Employee turn around was too high, and many junior staff were somehow "promoted" to fill up the gap after their seniors left. Too emphasize on "dream", top management always trying to give "big dream" saying that the new campus will be up soon and everything will be great after the glory day. However, no big progress was achieved and management keep convincing their staff that they are staying on top of a fantasy island. Highly NOT recommend for candidate who look for career instead of a job.

Pros

There is nothing good to say.

Cons

They can't afford to pay what you expected yet they make you think that you are not worth for what you are expecting. This uni's culture is bad. Their attitudes are poor. Environment doesn't even look like a uni. Think before you apply.
