Pros

Probably one of the best places to work for in Qatar as a software engineer. Professional environment and has a startup feel with generous resources.

Cons

QF is on a hiring spree and they are not scaling very well for the promised benefit in the contract. HR is a wall, not flexible at all, they don't accommodate for special needs and follow a matrix that was devised by some clueless dinosaur in London.

Pros

Fair salaries and stellar benefits as compared with the U.S.. Job packages, at minimum, include roomy housing inclusive of all utilities and wireless, health benefits, transportation allowances, ample time off and yearly tickets to home of record. The growth potential of the Qatar Foundation is staggering and inclusive of so many different professional paths: education at all levels, media, the arts, marketing, technology, research in all areas, events planning, facilities management and logistics, library science, community outreach, philanthropy...the list is almost endless... This is a wealth of opportunity.

Cons

There are bureaucratic snags to endure with the stresses of relocating internationally. Processing of visa papers and background checks and police clearance, etc. can be very time consuming, confusing, and tense. The initial period of settling in is probably the most difficult, along with adjusting to the extreme heat for 6 mod. of the year.
