Management does not have a strategic vision. The exec members have too much to lose to "upset the apple cart." Not a meritocracy.

Pros

Small companies often allow individuals to leave their mark by getting involved in many aspects of the business. Penn Capital is one of those places and can provide employees, especially people early in their careers, a good learning experience.

Cons

Erratic management...both of people and portfolios. Decision making in many aspects of the business seems to be reactive, not proactive. Many of the values that are espoused are not necessarily followed. Lots of time wasted in meetings that are held solely to feed egos.
