Pros

I am paid below minimum wage, I am not a daycare, rather a grandmother that is subsidized to care for her granddaughters as their mother works full time. The mother earns 30 per hour, she has rent, car payment, insurance and credit card payments, she also has three pets. I am paid a total of between 1,400 and 1,760 per month, some months I’m not paid on time. My rent is 1900. I clean houses on my hours off, and thrift and resell clothing. I’m still unable to pay all of my debts every month. If someone puts their children in a daycare they pay the daycare or school 1700 plus per child. I receive less than this for taking care of two children full time. I’m Also their grandmother and my daughter works full time , as does their father. I try to be resourceful with time , both parents are exhausted and do not live in the same residence , I then try to spend time with my grandchildren so their parents can socialize on their time off. I’m exhausted. Pathways has time cards we fill out and we are paid weeks later. If you turn in a time sheet late( even if it’s before pay periods) they pay you when it’s convenient for them. I find their customer service lax and careless. I personally do not find this system a system that is intended to help beyond putting children in situations where they are dealing with the emotions of stressed adults. I believe that Pathways is intended for the founders and they utilize such to negotiate business deals and social agendas - they most certainly do not do such for the children. I’ve not been paid for the month of June, it’s august. Im disappointed in the government that authorizes such organizations and once my granddaughters begin school and pathways will be paying the preschool I will advocate the school be paid in a timely manner. I understand that we all have our intentions and some of them begin with a sincere hope but it is obvious that Pathways LA has forgotten that childcare and those that care for the children are the priority. The paper pushers get paid on time.

Cons

All of the aforementioned- the company needs a new person to run it. I am offering my services !
